The Logistics Business takes to the stage at today’s Omni-Channel Conference

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole plays host to the 2014 Omni-Channel Conference and brings together senior industry thinkers to discuss and debate how best to ensure businesses are prepared for true end-to-end omni-channel operations.

Simon Tomlinson, Director at The Logistics Business will be taking to the stage this morning with fellow industry experts in a pros and cons debate. Chairperson for today’s events Professor Janet Godsell, Supply Chains Operations, Warwick University will table the motion that;

‘Retailers will have to automate in order to compete in an omni-channel environment’.

Joining Simon Tomlinson on the panel is John Munnelly, Head of Operations at John Lewis, Magna Park and Alan Penhale, Head of Warehousing at Boots.

The panel will outline their views on automation in the current retail environment, drawing on their vast industry experience and will be followed by what is hoped to be a lively debate from the attending delegates – many of whom are representing leading retailers, academics in the field of supply chain operations and fulfilment and a number of 3PL’s.
