Data driven solution for omni channel retailer

The Logistics Business were asked to review and make recommendations on an underperforming mini load system at the distribution centre for a global, omni-channel retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware.

The problem could have been quickly resolved by the client making a fast, high stake investment in increasing capacity but The Logistics Business ethos is that data drives solutions, so utilised its I-Flow Analysis system alongside the BOARD business intelligence software to develop a dashboard of data for the client.  Data could then be presented dynamically throughout a series of client workshops.  The two way, data driven approach is key to developing sustainable and attainable solutions.

To give the client confidence in the future of their system The Logistics Business solutions incorporated both long and short term recommendations.  Long term stretched the lifespan of the facility by reducing throughput in the Mini-Load by 40% as well as creating physical process changes which allow the system to operate at capacity.
