T&S Stores

T&S Stores have grown rapidly in recent years. Originally having a warehouse in the Midlands (comprising three buildings) and then through acquisition gaining a further warehouse in the South of England. With this acquisition came an additional 179 shops taking the total number of outlets to 1000 throughout England and Wales. A further warehouse in the Midlands was to come on line later in the year. Due to demands on the warehouses the Midlands centre was running at maximum capacity and the Southern warehouse was judged to have very high operating costs. THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS was asked to review the supply chain structure of the business, the split of shops to warehouse, and vehicle scheduling and routing software requirements of the business.
