With users throughout Europe demanding rapid delivery of components, Vacuum Generators decided that their sales growth depended largely on the level of customer service provided. Market research showed that no single supplier had a particular competitive edge but that guaranteed delivery times could significantly improve a supplier’s market share. The question was: could distribution be improved to provide a quicker guaranteed service whilst, at the same time, reducing costs?
