This well known manufacturer of garden equipment asked us to review its in-bound logistics operation to consider how best to manage supplies of components and materials to its production plant. The business is seasonal and difficult to predict. A period of warm spring weather, for example, can create very big surges in demand.

This was putting enormous pressure on the business resulting in stock out or overstocks as the business tried to work with a supply chain which was not sufficiently responsive. Our work showed how the situation could be greatly improved by setting up a variety of specific supplier arrangement.
