Howmedica Europe

Howmedica are a global manufacturer of a very wide range of medical prosthetics. Their worldwide distribution centre is based at Shannon, Republic of Ireland. Howmedica were keen to ensure that the warehouse was operating to best practice and called on THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS to carry out a warehouse heath check.

This process involved all of the staff at the distribution centre and enabled a good understanding of how the distribution centre operates within a short space of time. From this we were able to recommend a number of detail changes to improve efficiency and service. Howmedica were planning to introduce Radio Data Terminals and we also made recommendations on how the operation should change to enable maximum advantage to be obtained.

Subsequently we were called back in to facilitate an investigation into new ways of managing supplies across the European markets.
