THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS provides a wide range of services in logistics and the supply chain. The design and development of warehouses and distribution centres, especially automated, is a very important area for us.

Our services within warehousing and distribution include warehouse design and operations, distribution planning and transport operations. We also help Clients with outsourcing their logistics operations.

During the early part of the twentieth century Industrial Engineering was developed as a scientific process for analysing and improving industrial processes with the primary objective of increasing efficiency and reducing costs.  In the latter part of that century the techniques were picked up and used to good effect in distribution operations but more recently they have fallen by the wayside and few organisations now retain the necessary skills in-house.

At THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS, given the economic slowdown, we believe that the time is right to re-introduce these techniques but in the context of a modern more practical approach.  To this end we have developed a structured programme of work designed to re-introduce the Industrial Engineering techniques of observation and measurement and to combine these with strong Operations Management experience.  Read more ….

THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS has a great depth of experience in Warehouse Design and are able to both assist or take full responsibility for the design process from analysing and identifying the requirements, modelling the system, developing the concepts, selecting the optimum equipment to producing the final drawings in two or three dimensional layouts with Computer Aided Design (CAD).
