Carlsberg-Tetley

THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS has undertaken a number of projects for Carlsberg Tetley at the Leeds Brewery site. Some were to investigate the feasibility of bringing all distribution on site through the extensive use of automation. Others were to do with production planning and the replacement of the mechanisation used to handle returned casks and kegs for re-filling.

In the production planning project we helped Carlsberg-Tetley to make the packaging operation more responsive to fluctuating customer demand and hence reduce the stock holding requirement for finished product.

The empties project included complete design of a new handling facility followed by support for the tendering and supplier selection processes.
